I recently stumbled upon Marge’s travel blog. I read her words in her voice, always full of laughter and confidence.
Que me quiten lo Bailao
“You cannot take away what I have Danced”
Unsurprisingly, I hear her everywhere. I see Margery in friends, in her wonderful parents, her strong sister. I sense my best friend in my own habits, my love for dogs and harry potter and in my drive to see the world change for the better.
I owe so much to her, she is as much part of me as any person could be. I can promise that I’ll continue living with a full heart knowing she’d expect no less from me. Her birthday was two days ago, the Davis Divas and I prepared her favorite meal together(via Zoom) and we shared a few words that reminded us of her; trailblazer, adventurer and traveler were a few that came to mind.
I arrived back in Austria a few days ago with my Herb, after years apart we finally have a chance to make a life together. It’s exciting and scary, but very comforting to know that she met the fella I chose and very much approved. I’ll do my best to keep writing, it certainly helps me keep her close.

I don't have a way to describe the loss we suffered nearly two years ago, when my best friend was attacked and killed in Washington DC. It will never feel real, and I will continue expecting her to call me about her latest adventure. It's jarring how much the world has changed without her.
With love, Margery’s BFFL
